My Role
Brand Designer, Web Designer, UX/UI Designer
The Cyber Conflict Simulator (CCS), developed by Utilis and the University of Zagreb, helps organizations prepare for cyberattacks by simulating realistic IT environments and attack scenarios. Contribution to this project included designing product logo, web site and the user interface, ensuring an intuitive and user-friendly experience that allowed participants to navigate complex simulations with ease.
CCS Graphic & Web Design
The design process began with the creation of the logo, embodying the platform’s high-tech nature and focus on cybersecurity.
The dynamic parallelogram shape was introduced as a recurring element, unifying the look and feel of the website and promotional assets.
CCS UI Design
Designing the UX/UI for the Cyber Conflict Simulator required an innovative approach, resulting in a dynamic interface where users could recreate work environments and simulate cyberattacks to practice defense strategies.
Custom isometric icons were designed as part of the visual language to represent network elements and cyber threats, enhancing clarity and providing easily recognizable, context-specific visuals for a more intuitive user experience.
The UI layout for the map preview offers a dynamic and scalable view of client locations. As users zoom in or out, the interface seamlessly adjusts to display varying levels of detail, from high-level overviews to detailed information about actions at specific locations. This enables efficient monitoring and ensures a clear understanding of ongoing events.
The dashboard preview provides a centralized view where users can monitor all key indicators in one place. It displays real-time states offering a comprehensive and organized snapshot of system activities.
What CCS Users Says
“Conduct of this exercise was immensely useful. All the functionalities are surprisingly well thought-out. We have an interest in conducting periodic exercises in various scenarios once or twice a year. As for the greatest benefits of conducting this exercise, that would be the acquisition of experience in managing a cybernetic incident response, like Flight Simulator, we would achieve an effective and optimal response to individual types of cyberspace occurrences.”
Srećko Bartol
CISO, Kentbank Plc.
“The conducting of this exercise constituted a good preparation for a real situation. By enacting a simulation with a layout similar to our infrastructure, new ideas for protection level raising can be introduced on individual system parts. The app is excellent, with the suggestion of implementing the greatest number of attack scenarios possible.”
Branimir Ivošević
IT infrastructure department manager, Kentbank Plc.
“Cyber Conflict Simulator is an excellent tool which can contribute to the training of the personnel of Republic of Croatia’s armed forces. The main advantage of CCS is that it fills a gap that exists in the development of cybernetic capabilities between the technical and the managerial level. The functionalities of CCS enable a unique approach to the simultaneous training of a wide spectrum of personnel on all levels.”
